UVM email has a limit of around 8MB for an attachment, so if you have a file larger than 8MB or you need to send multiple files you must use the UVM File Transfer system. The File Transfer System can send a single file or multiple files that equal a total of less than 1GB. Checking File Size: PC: Right click item, select "Properties" Under the "General" tab find "Size" MAC: Select item, hit Command + I "Get Info" box will appear. Find "Size" To send a file:www.uvm.edu/filetransfer/Follow this link and click "Send a File". Click the button "I am: a UVM Affiliate" Log in with your NetID and password. Enter the Recipient email address (must put in @uvm.edu if a UVM address) Click Browse to select the file from your computer to send. Click Begin Transfer to send the file, depending on the size it may take a few minutes to send. If you have multiple files that you would like to send, zipping them into a compressed folder is recommended. (For instructions on how to zip or compress a file, see posting "Compressing and Zipping Files")
